Regarding Devil Boy Quest Ultimate Version
I hate to beat around the bush so I'll just write it down what needs to be written.
In the previous version, the players needs to gather all of hidden key items and find the hidden events in order to go to true end route, should they missed something then they will go to a premature end route, the players can only realize whether they missed something or not once they reach about half of the game which is already too late.
Imagine after gathering materials to craft equipment and getting useful Magic Tomes to create a powerful build just to be told to start over, who wouldn't want to throw a towel?
After a lot of consideration... I left with two choices and that's either I made a list of all hidden key items and events to unlock the true end route or to remove the strict conditions altogether, obviously I choose the later.
The fun about treasure hunting is when you found it after you looking around for it, it's not a treasure hunting if you already knew where the treasure is located, like the difference of fishing in the open and fishing in the aquarium.
In short, the Ultimate Version guaranteed the true end route will always be available even if the players missed something, but of course they need to do the bare minimum requirements which is to have seven party members to have their bond maxed out which can be done anytime.
There's no going back in the true end route, which mean it's not possible for character like Karin, Karen, etc. to level up their bond level as there are no INN available during True End Route and that's the problem itself.
Utility ability such as Mass Transport, etc. are necessary in the true end route is why maximizing those characters bond level is a minimum requirements, should the players even fail to meet these then they will go down to premature end route.
But of course there's a many things that need to be changed since the key items has their own purpose, for example Grimoire which famously always missed often because it's can be obtained very early on at even Level 1.
Grimoire is a key item that's will be traded with Solomon Law Book (now called S. Law Book) at Mizu Castle Library, S. Law Book can grant a special ability to prevent True Devil from unleashing Hell's Gate.
Hell's Gate dealt decent damage based on lost HP and the number of the turn passed also negated all revival effects therefore if a character died in the Hell's Gate then that character will be incapacitated for the rest of battle.
Without S. Law Book, the party must kill the boss as soon as possible which unrealistic as the boss has a lot of HP so it's almost impossible to clear the game without it.
That's how important finding the key item is and now in the Ultimate Version where players can just go to true end route even if they missed those key items a change must be made otherwise they might get stuck somewhere.
Simple example of those changes are the location of S. Law Book are now placed in a treasure chest at the final area because the players can now advance to true end route even if they missed the Grimoire.
Then, is there even a point finding key items like Grimoire? Of course! You may not get S. Law Book from trading Grimoire but you will get a Random Book instead, that book grant a unique attack called Isekai Rush which similar to Hell's Gate.
Isekai Rush is a special attacks that summon a truck kun? to attack all enemies, should they died then they can't be revived for the rest of battle since they're reincarnated as a Slave of a Black Company in another world according to the folklore.
Another example is a Soul of Steel which allow players to walk over an empty platform, it's mainly used in Lab and Factory, but this feature were removed and I placed a alternative passage such as that bridge, otherwise the players will get stuck there if they don't have the said item.
Soul of Clean ability to travel on natural water (at the Carbuncle Village and the Forest of Elves) is also removed for the same reason, as for the alternative is warp points...
Yeah, I know spotting warp point is hard so I leave some clue in form of a miscellaneous decorations such as flowers, grass, etc. just spam that action button on those suspicious spots, I'm sure you can notice them.
And now you wondered, if the souls ability were removed then what's the point gathering them? again... if you collect them all and fused them, it will help you at the final area.
There's no end if I were to list what's changed so let's end it here also thanks for your time and I hopefully you have a happy adventure!

Why am I setting the standard so high? Simply say I was expecting my player are on par with Jrpg enjoyer who cleared Breath of Fire, Dragon Quest, Lufia, Final Fantasy, Golden Sun, Secret of Mana, and many other great Jrpg series.
But I just realized it now those old Jrpg are only the things in the past, nobody talking about SNES or GBA games these day so there's no way anyone know how Jrpg was played back then, like who bored enough to do something like shown above?
I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience I caused because how inexperienced I am, I should have done this sooner so I'll apologize again to all of my players, and thank you for all of your support, I'll keep this in mind while working on my next projects.
